The term “abroad” refers to all the countries except for Poland.
The time of the final year elective abroad is fixed and defined by the university schedule for the final year of studies and cannot be changed.

Any attempts to complete the elective abroad without the fulfilment of the above mentioned conditions will not be accepted and the tuition fees will not be refunded.
Any attempts to complete the 6-week elective in Poland by means of the student’s prior personal arrangements will not be accepted and the tuition fees will not be refunded.

English should be the language of instruction and communication at all levels.
The student is fully responsible for securing their place at the university clinical hospital, covering all the costs regarding the elective abroad and Malpractice Insurance as well as obeying all the rules and procedures set by this hospital. Arranging for the elective abroad is the issue between the student and the institution hosting the student abroad. MUL is not obliged to sign any contracts or agreements with this institution.
According to the Directive No. 44/2020 of 18th May 2020 of the Rector of the Medical University of Lodz (with further amendments) the student’s tuition fee will be reduced by the amount equivalent to the current cost of that part of the study program at the Medical University of Lodz.

The student should download the Referral for exam of practical clinical training from our website; this must be firstly presented to the coordinator and then to the examiner in order to sit the exam.
After passing the exam the student is obliged to return the Referral with a grade to the Dean’s Office within 3 working days. This is the condition of being granted the ECTS points for the particular course.
The students who received the dean’s permission to do the final year elective abroad in the summer months (July, August, September) preceding the 6th year of studies are obliged to take the exam after their coming back to Poland. Their grade will be submitted into the system with the date of completion of the elective for the specific clinical group scheduled in the timetable of the final year (not sooner than the date of the last scheduled classes of the elective).
