The EcoUMED program was created to implement the pro-ecological policy of our university. The Medical University of Lodz, feeling social responsibility as the largest medical university in the country, took up the challenge of building a university model based on sustainable management of construction investments and promoting pro-ecological behavior.

Our initiatives

“World Recycling Day” – on March 18th, we celebrate World Recycling Day. On this occasion, we have prepared a file for the employees and students of the Center with tips on proper waste segregation, ways to share excess food, and addresses of places that repair shoes, bags, suitcases, and household equipment.

“Free your desk” – the aim of this initiative is to encourage all employees from the building at Hallera to exchange unneccessary items with coworkers, turning clutter into treasures! Almost all objects found their new owners.

“Make yourself a garden” – as part of the EcoUmed initiative, the Centre for Studies in English organized a wonderful event where we cared for our office plants by repotting them into new soil and pots, ensuring they have enough space to grow and thrive. Additionally, we shared knowledge about different plants, their requirements, and how to care for them.
