The Choir of MUL announces the enrollment of new candidates!

We invite all English Division students to join our Choir! Auditions are held on 11.10.2023 (Wednesday) and 13.10.2023 (Friday) from 5 pm till 8 pm in University’s building at 7/9, Żeligowskiego Street, room 360. MUL SPORTS CENTRE REOPENING

After an overhaul and thermal modernisation, The Sports Centre was opened on 23 September 2023. The ceremony was attended by: The list of guests also included MUL employees and students, members of Students Government and University Club of Academic Sports Association MUL, representatives of the constructors. The opening ceremony was held in the atmosphere of sports competitions because the Sports Centre was at the same time the host of the Medical Badminton Cup and the Polish Doctors’ Badminton Championship. The total cost of the renovation and thermal modernization of the Sports Centre amounted to PLN 12 million. The construction works started in May 2022 and included a sports hall and a swimming pool. The windows, doors, floors and roofing were replaced, external walls and ceiling were insulated. The water, heating, electrical and ventilation systems as well as Building Management Systems (BMS) were modernized. The stairs, stair railing and roof were fixed. The swimming pool basin was also replaced. As part of the investment, a photovoltaic installation was also installed, external lighting and sidewalks in front of the building were replaced. Thermal modernisation of the Sports Centre falls within the MUL strategic directions of sustainable development and environment protection.  The Centre is actually the 19th building which has been thermally modernised by MUL within the last decade. Thanks to such initiatives MUL energy demand has diminished by 32%.

UMED hosts the 12th IUHPE European Conference on Health Promotion and the 7th International Conference on Salutogenesis – Submit your abstract!

Get ready for dynamic discussions about health and wellbeing at the 12th IUHPE European Conference on Health Promotion held on June 17-18, 2024, immediately followed by the 7th International Conference on Salutogenesis, June 19-20, 2024, in the flourishing city of Lodz, Poland. As a premier event for the global health promotion community, the organizers invite professionals (e.g., researchers, health promotion practitioners in community settings, civil servants working on health-promoting policies and programming) from around the world for in-person participation, fostering direct engagement, networking, and collaboration.  The 12th IUHPE European Conference on Health Promotion, with the theme “Health Promotion: Cultivating Change Through the Lifespan”, is part of IUHPE’s prestigious series of scientific events. New edition of an internship for Doctors and Dentists!

To all whom it may concern! Due to the high demand among graduates, the Postgraduate Education Center of the Medical University of Lodz decided to implement the next edition of a 6-month internship for Doctors and Dentists after medical studies in English, from October 2023. The 3rd edition of the Practical Training is intended for graduates of 2022 and 2023 (due to the statutory requirement to start an internship within 2 years of obtaining the diploma). If you need any documents signed by the Dean (transcript, Dean’s statement, letter, etc), please write an e-mail to your coordinator or to deans.office@umed.lodz.pl until 12th of July. If you want to apply for any internship program, you have to ask for the documents NOW. If you contact us after the deadline, the documents will not be ready on time.

MUL among the top 5% of universities according to the international CWUR ranking

We are pleased to announce that the Medical University of Lodz was among the top 5% of universities according to the Global 2000 list announced by the Center for World University Rankings (2023 edition). The ranking includes 20,531 universities and research institutes from around the world and 40 from Poland. Taking 12th place in Poland, we are one of the three highest ranked medical universities, right behing Warsaw and Wroclaw. Since 2012, the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) has been publishing an academic ranking of world universities, which assesses the quality of education (number of university graduates awarded in international competitions), graduate employment (share of graduates in top management positions in the largest companies), scientific quality (number academic employees who have won academic awards) and the level of scientific research (quality of publications, citation rate, number of international patents). MUL students awarded in MEiN ‘Pearls of Science”

The results of the Ministry of Science and Education programme „Perły Nauki” (Pearls of Science) have been announced. In the first call, Katarzyna Kwas i Aleksandra Zielińska, students at the Faculty of Medicine, obtained grants for their research. The programme aim is to support the units of higher education and scientific entities by providing the conditions for development for outstanding graduates of first cycle degree programmes or third-/fourth-year students in long-cycle Master’s degree programme. The programme is meant to enable the students to conduct their research or develop their artistic skills under guidance of their supervisors. Katarzyna Kwas Project title: The impact of mesenchymal stem cells on adipose metaplasia in rotator cuff damage.
